Ukraine remains committed to reforms, cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank and the restoration of the national economy, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

"I would like to make three clear messages today. The first one is that Ukraine and my whole team, including the government and the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, remain committed to further reforms. Our main priority is the fight against corruption," he said at a meeting of the regional groups of member countries of the IMF and the World Bank in Kyiv on Saturday.

"The second message is that Ukraine remains committed to cooperation with the IMF and the World Bank. Our plan of reforms was built on the basis of your advice and expertise and, as you can see, today we have stabilized the situation in the economy," Poroshenko said.

"The third message concerns the joint transformation of Ukraine. We are aware that the achieved result is not enough. It is important for people to feel positive changes, the transition from the macroeconomic stability that we have achieved to economic growth. Our goal is realistic – the GDP growth this year is 1.1%, inflation is decreasing and will reach next year 8%, as planned by the NBU," the head of state summed up.

Poroshenko also met with First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF David Lipton, with whom he discussed the cooperation between Ukraine and the Fund, the president's press service reported.

In addition, at a meeting of the regional groups, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva noted that the country had been able to overcome the greatest challenges and achieve positive changes. However, without the support of the IMF, the World Bank, all countries that are part of the regional group of member countries of the IMF and the World Bank, it would be impossible to do this, she added.
