The work on the modalities of local elections in the districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that are not controlled by Kyiv, as well as on the amnesty issue will continue during a meeting of the trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine in Minsk on January 13, Kyiv's representative to the Contact Group's political subgroup, Roman Bezsmertny, has said.

"In particular, the political subgroup will continue working on the electoral modalities, possibilities and options for an amnesty, which has been discussed there on numerous occasions, as well as problems linked with immunity [from criminal prosecution] during a possible political settlement process. The same concerns the other subgroups as well," he told the Channel 5 television station on Monday.

All four subgroups will continue the technological process that took place before the New Year holidays, he noted.

"There is nothing new about that. These are not new revolutionary concepts, approaches, etc.," Bezsmertny said.
