The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has imposed a five-year entry ban on Fred Durst, the founder and vocalist of the U.S. band Limp Bizkit, an SBU spokesperson told Interfax.

"Yes, he has been banned from entering Ukraine," the spokesperson said.

A Ukrainian news website, Apostrophe, received an SBU reply to its enquiry concerning the musician. In it, the SBU said that the five-year entry ban on Durst has been in place since November "in the interest of providing security for our state."

In early October, the Russian newspaper Izvestia reported that in his letter to the Crimean administration Durst wrote that he would be happy to have a Russian passport and a pretty little house in Crimea. His wife, Kseniya Beryazina, was born in Crimea, the newspaper said.
