Ukrainian speaker supports deepening cooperation with Cyprus

Ukrainian Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Groysman said at a meeting with President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades that Ukraine and Cyprus have a large potential for developing bilateral relations.

"Our countries should further deepen cooperation. We have a large potential for developing bilateral relations," the press service of the parliament reported on Tuesday, citing Groysman.

Groysman expressed confidence in the further development of friendly bilateral relations between the two countries.

The speaker also thanked the Cypriot president for ratifying the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement by Cyprus.

He said that the visa free regime is important for millions of Ukrainians. He said that the visa regime restricts opportunities of Ukrainians, and the decision of the European Union that would facilitate the visa procedures is important for Ukraine. He said that the Ukrainian parliament adopted the whole package of documents required for the positive decision on the issue.

In turn, Anastasiades said that Cyprus is ready to do what it can and help Ukraine in part of the Association with the EU.

Cyprus will advocate the visa free regime for Ukraine and support the country in European institutions, Anastasiades said.
