Trilateral Contact Group says actions incompatible with Minsk agreements must stop now

The Trilateral Contact Group for the Donbas conflict resolution has said that actions incompatible with the Minsk agreements must stop, Darka Olifer, press secretary of Ukrainian Representative to the Trilateral Contact Group, second Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, has reported.

"Considering the recent exacerbation in security levels along the contact line, including major violations of the truce, the Trilateral Contact Group is urgently appealing for the immediate end of all actions incompatible with the agreements and the efforts towards peaceful resolution of conflict within the framework of the Minsk process," says the Trilateral Contact Group's appeal published on Olifer's page on Facebook.

The appeal said that tensions escalating in the conflict zone had once again led to human casualties and created serious impediments to the return of refugees and internally displaced persons, the delivery of humanitarian aid, the restoration of crucial infrastructures and economic activity.

Resumption of the armed standoff, which might disrupt the implementation of the Minsk agreements, should be avoided, Olifer said.
