Ukraine prosecutor general forwards materials on crimes committed in eastern Ukraine to ICC
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema said the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has already collected and provided to International Criminal Court (ICC) officials evidence of crimes committed in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Responding to a question from Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the Batkivschyna faction, Yarema said: "Materials are provided to the ICC by the ICC prosecutor. We have recently met with his representatives. We provided all the necessary investigation materials. They are now studying them and they will make decisions in accordance with their powers. But we have already provided all of our material."
On February 4, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada recognized ICC jurisdiction over crimes against humanity and war crimes.
