Heletei: Kremlin orders Russian troops to step back from Ukraine territory

Former Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Heletei has said that the Russian regular troops are leaving the territory of Donbas.

"Today we're witnesses how Kremlin makes relative orders regarding the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces from the territory of Ukraine, regarding their deployment to the barracks on the territory of Russia," the minister said in Kyiv on Monday.

He said that this is an evidence of efficient actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who halted Russia aggression not just near Ilovaisk (Donetsk region), but near Luhansk as well.

"Russian troops starting from August 1 were on the territory of Ukraine, first battles started on the territory of Ukraine with the Russian armed forces from August 20 during the attack on the Luhansk airport," the ex-defense minister said.

On Sunday evening Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko accepted resignation of Defense Minister Valeriy Heletei.
