Parliament recognizes people involved in anti-terrorist operation as combatants
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has supported the assignment of the status of combatants to people involved in an anti-terrorist operation in east Ukraine.
"My colleagues have supported the spread of the status of combatants to participants in the anti-terrorist operation," acting deputy head of the presidential administration, Andriy Senchenko, told reporters on Tuesday.
He added that bill No. 4815 introducing amendments to the law on the status of war veterans and guarantees of their social protection had been adopted during a closed-doors parliament meeting.
