Yanukovych submits to parliament public prosecution bill

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, a bill on the public prosecution system of Ukraine.
A relevant announcement was posted on the parliament's Web site on Tuesday.
The text of the draft law and supporting documents have not been published.
Earlier on Tuesday, parliament removed from its agenda a public prosecution bill that was drawn up by MP Viktor Shvets and other parliamentarians that was submitted on April 14, 2009 and taken as a basis by the Verkhovna Rada.
The document had to be removed from agenda, as, according to the parliamentary regulations, a similar bill cannot be registered before this procedure is carried out.
Chairman of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Andriy Kozhemiakin said that "the committee recommends removing from the agenda the public prosecution bill and taking into account its provisions during work on another bill."
Earlier, the Venice Commission issued its conclusions on the public prosecution bill submitted to the parliament by the Ukrainian president.
