The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has once again refuted the statements by the defense counsel of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Serhiy Vlasenko, about the existence of three criminal cases against him and the possibility of his arrest.

The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office said on Monday that they were currently checking allegations of Vlasenko's former wife that her ex-husband was beating her, which means that there were criminal proceedings only on one matter - this statement.

The press service said that a criminal case on Vlasenko's non-fulfillment of court rulings in a civil case was closed, of which his representative was notified on Monday.

The PGO's press service also said that Vlasenko was exaggerating the possibility of his arrest, because according to the new Criminal Procedure Code, this measure of restraint is only used if a person is suspected of committing serious crimes.
