Vlasenko says he may be detained on Friday night

Batkivschyna parliamentary faction MP and defense lawyer of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Serhiy Vlasenko, has said that he may be detained as soon as the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine deprives him of his parliamentary seat.

"[Ukrainian President] Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych issued direct instructions regarding all these events [the sending of an inquiry to the Higher Administrative Court on depriving Vlasenko of his parliamentary seat]," he said at a press conference on Friday.

According to him, the plan was the following – on Wednesday, February 27, the parliamentary regulations committee approves a relevant decision, on Thursday, February 28, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak sends the inquiry to the court, and after that the Higher Administrative Court considers the inquiry and deprives Vlasenko of his parliamentary seat, and "on Friday night they are supposed to detain me."

Vlasenko also said that his case at the Higher Administrative Court already has a number, and Judge Zaitsev will consider it.

He added that the judge's assistant had not informed him about the date of the hearing.

Vlasenko said that the parliamentary opposition had discovered by chance that the regulations committee's decision had been falsified, and that Rybak had sent it to the courts.
