Parliamentary budget committee suggests passing draft 2013 national budget on Thursday

Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget Valeriy Baranov and his first deputy Vladyslav Lukyanov have suggested that parliamentarians submit their proposals on the draft national budget for 2013, which was registered in the Ukrainian parliament on December 3, by 1200 on December 5.

A relevant draft instruction was registered in the parliament on December 3 and published on Tuesday.

"The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget will not consider proposals submitted after 1200 on December 5, 2012," reads the document.

According to the draft instruction, the draft 2013 national budget with the committee's proposals will be considered and a vote on it will be held on December 6.

The draft budget for 2013 has not been posted on the Web site of the parliament yet.

Earlier, Acting Vice Premier and Social Policy Minister of Ukraine Sergiy Tigipko said that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft national budget for 2013 with a forecast of gross domestic product growth of 3.4% and inflation of 4.8%.

As reported, with reference to data from the State Statistics Service, Ukraine's GDP in the third quarter of 2012 fell by 1.3% compared to the third quarter of 2011, while in the first quarter the increase was 2%, and in the second quarter - 3%. Most experts expect Ukraine's GDP to continue shrinking in the fourth quarter of 2012.
