Co-chairman of the European Solidarity faction in the Verkhovna Rada Artur Herasymov, and the MPs of the same faction, Maksym Savrasov, Mykhailo Bondar and Mykola Velychkovych, announced their readiness to take on bail the brigadier general, former commander of the Kharkiv operational-tactical group of forces Yuriy Halushkin, it was reported on the European Solidarity's website on Friday.

"I have already written an application to take the general's mistress as a surety. I saw several citizens here who also signed sureties. And the generals signed, and our political prisoners who returned from captivity also signed," Bondar told journalists.

In a statement on the website of the political force, photos of MPs in the corridors of the building of Pechersk District Court of Kyiv are posted.

"It is critical for the society to protect the military, to protect the fact that they make decisions in the conditions of harsh confrontation, life and death. Our task is to help them stand up so that any officer knows that his decision is the protection of society. And we, as politicians, as a society, as journalists, as any ordinary citizens must give them this confidence," Velychkovych said.

Earlier, the European Solidarity faction called for an extraordinary meeting of the Committee on National Security and Defense and a closed meeting of the Verkhovna Rada due to the arrests of military commanders.
