Defense Ministry holds demonstration of FPV drones controlled via fiber optics
The Main Directorate of Defense Innovations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine held a presentation test of FPV drones controlled via fiber optic cable.
"As part of the event, a number of domestic manufacturers presented more than a dozen drone models, some of which are capable of carrying up to 3 kg of payload. Experienced UAV operators - potential users of the latest technology on the battlefield - directly observed the demonstration flights," the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the head of the unmanned aerial systems department of the Main Directorate of Innovations of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant Colonel Yevhen Tkachenko, a number of the means presented at the demonstration are already at the final stage of codification and will soon be supplied to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"The enemy continues to increase its capabilities for using drone control technologies via fiber optics, so it is imperative to neutralize its advantages in this segment. Domestic manufacturers demonstrate their readiness to quickly adapt to modern warfare challenges and implement the latest developments. Today, as confirmation of this, we see the successful operation of the means and their effectiveness and, no less importantly, the readiness to quickly scale these technologies to meet the needs of the troops," he noted.
