Five people die in car accident in Ivano-Frankivsk region at night

In Ivano-Frankivsk region, five people were killed last night as a result of a collision between a car and a truck, including two minors, said head of the Regional Military Administration, Svitlana Onischuk.
"Last night, a traffic accident occurred near the village of Nastashyne in Burshtyn urban community. As a result of the collision of a car and a truck, five people were killed, including two minors," Onischuk wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.
As the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ivano-Frankivsk region said on its official website, the accident occurred on the highway N-09. The accident was reported at about 21:41 on December 30.
Law enforcement officers found that the 20-year-old BMW 520 driver, a resident of Burshtyn, exceeded the speed limit and drove into oncoming traffic on a rounded section, after which he collided with a DAF truck. The police found out that the remaining tread height of the BMW's rear wheels did not meet the established standards. As a result of the accident, the driver and his four passengers, two of whom were underage teenagers, died on the spot.
The truck driver, a resident of Moldova, was checked for intoxication. He's sober.
