Rada dismisses Deputy PM for Reintegration Vereschuk
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has supported the dismissal of Iryna Vereschuk from her position as Deputy Prime Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, according to MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak (the Holos parliamentary faction) on Telegram.
According to Zhelezniak, 255 members of parliament voted in favor of Vereschuk's resignation during Thursday's plenary session.
On Wednesday, Vereschuk's resignation fell short by 12 votes (226 votes are needed to pass a decision).
Vereschuk was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories on November 4, 2021. Prior to that, from 2019, she was a member of the 9th convocation of parliament. Earlier, from 2010 to 2015, Vereschuk served as mayor of Rava-Ruska in Lviv region.
