Exports from Ukraine via sea corridor reaches record 8 mln tonnes in Feb - Kubrakov

A record volume of cargo was exported along the Ukrainian sea corridor, created by the Ukrainian Navy, in February - 8 million tonnes, the total volume of exports since the beginning of the “grain corridor” reached 28 million tonnes, said Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Communities and Territories Development and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

“The cargo turnover of the ports of Odesa in the shortest month of the year amounted to 8 million tonnes, of which 5.2 million tonnes were products of Ukrainian farmers. These are record export figures not only along the Ukrainian corridor, but also during the period of the full-scale invasion,” Kubrakov said on Facebook on Friday.

At the same time, it is clarified that exports through the Black Sea ports are gradually approaching pre-war indicators, the deputy prime minister indicated.

He clarified that the volume of exports since the start of the corridor reached 28 million tonnes, 19 million tonnes of this volume are grains and oilseeds. The cargo was sent to 42 countries.

“Today, more than 90% of all agricultural exports go through the ports of Odesa and the Danube ports. Ukraine remains one of the key guarantors of food security. Especially with regard to grain exports to African and Asian countries,” Kubrakov noted.

Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko reported that the volume of exports from Ukraine in January reached 12 million tonnes, and for 21 days of February - 8.5 million tonnes thanks to the work of the Ukrainian sea corridor.
