The Verkhovna Rada has passed a bill on the national budget of Ukraine for 2019 with the deficit within 2.3% of Ukraine's GDP.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that around 6 a.m. a total of 240 lawmakers backed the document.

"The budget remains balanced and realistic. The deficit is within 2.3% of GDP. This will enable us to confidently enter 2019," Finance Minister Oksana Markarova said from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.

She recalled that during the review of the bill for second reading, national budget revenues and expenditures were increased by UAH 18 billion, respectively to UAH 1.019 trillion and UAH 1.112 trillion, which is 11.8% and 12.1% higher than in the national budget for 2018.
