Naftogaz ready to supply gas to Kyivteploenergo after settling issue of legal succession of debts
National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy is ready to supply gas to municipal company Kyivteploenergo without instant payment of the debt, only if the issue of the legal succession of debts is settled.
"Statements that Naftogaz Ukrainy refuses to supply gas to Kyivteploenergo without instant payment of the debt by this company accumulated by its predecessor – public joint-stock company Kyivenergo are not true," Naftogaz said in a press release.
"Naftogaz is ready to sign a contract to supply gas with Kyivteploenergo at once after settling the issue of legal succession of debts via the signing of contacts on the transfer of the debt by Kyivteploenergo, Kyivenergo and Naftogaz Ukrainy as the law on heat supply requires.
"It is logical that taking over the debt to Naftogaz Ukrainy, Kyivteploenergo must receive claims to debtors of Kyivenergo. In particular, this concerns payments of the state for privileges granted to the public for delivered gas and the compensation of the difference in the tariffs. In addition, consumers continue paying debts for the previous periods. The new enterprise would have the funds to pay debts," Naftogaz said.
