MHP refuses buying Poland's Exdrob

Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) has decided to abandon plans to acquire Poland's Exdrob, the Polish Radio has reported.

According to the report, the information about the plans to buy the plant in Poland appeared in September, as then Cyprus-based Raftan Holding belonged to MHP submitted an application to receive a permit to buy Exdrob to the competition and consumers protection department.

"However, the deal would not take place. Managers of Exdrob said that on November 28, 2017, they received a letter where Raftan Holding Ltd said briefly that it refused from holding the talks due to commercial reasons," the Polish Radio said.

As reported, referring to a non-financial report of the holding for 2016, the company seeks to acquire meat processing facilities in the EU countries and Britain and increase its presence on the food markets with large added value by 2023.

MHP is the largest poultry producer in Ukraine. It is also engaged in production of grains, sunflower oil, and meat.

The company supplies cooled halved carcasses of hens to the European market. They are processed there, including at its enterprises in the Netherlands and Slovakia.
