Vodafone Ukraine sees 3.7% rise in revenue in Q3 2017, 16.3% rise in net profit

Vodafone Ukraine (PrJSC VF Ukraine) in July-September 2017 saw UAH 2.97 billion of revenue, which is 3.7% more than a year ago, according to a quarterly report of the parent company MTS.

According to a press release of the Ukrainian mobile communications operator, revenue grew thanks to an increase in revenue from data transfer by 72%, to UAH 969 million.

MTS said that over the period the company saw a 16.3% rise in net profit in Ukraine, to UAH 0.52 billion.

Operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) in Q3 2017 rose by 14.8%, to UAH 1.23 billion, and operating profit – by 17.6%, to UAH 0.55 billion.

Vodafone Ukraine's subscribers' base did not change over the period. The company serviced 20.8 million subscribers as of late September 2017. Over the period the company expanded 3G coverage by 300 more towns where 1.2 million people live, bringing the coverage to 72% of all population of Ukraine.

According to the report, capital investment soared 2.2-fold year-over-year, to UAH 1.04 billion.

MTS also said that general traffic in Q3 2017 fell by 0.6%, to 31.3 billion minutes, and in January-September 2017 it dropped by 0.7%, to 95 billion minutes.

In January-September 2017, the company's revenue in Ukraine grew by 4.3% year-over-year, to UAH 8.72 billion with growth of capital investment by 74.5%, to UAH 2.81 billion.

OIBDA in January-September 2017 rose by 40.6%, to UAH 3.8 billion, operating profit by 74.1%, to UAH 1.7 billion and net profit by 66.9%, to UAH 1.58 billion.

Vodafone Ukraine is the second largest mobile communications operator in Ukraine. The operator has about 500 stores all over the country.

Vodafone Ukraine is fully owned by Prelludium B.V. (the Netherlands). It is part of the MTS international group which shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
