Milk Alliance to supply cheese to UAE, North Africa

The Milk Alliance Group seeks to start cheese supplies to the Untied Arab Emirates (UAE) and North Africa, Head of the supervisory board of the group Serhiy Vovchenko told reporters in Pyriatyn at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new workshop.

"We want to ship cheese to UAE. In April we delivered small pilot batches… We supplied milk powder there as raw material and it does not require Halal certification. We have received Halal for curdled dairy products and cheese and these are finished products," he said.

Milk Alliance intends to ship cheese to North Africa, in particular, Algeria. The group is delivering butter and dry products there.

Vovchenko said that pilot batches were also shipped to Germany along with Austria and Bulgaria.

He said that in 2015 nine containers with powder whey 20 tonnes each were shipped to Japan. The company does not supply products there on the permanent basis.

"We have sent 300 tonnes of powder whey to China and this year we seek to ship 1,500 tonnes. I do not know about Japan. We cannot agree on the laboratory control parameters," he said.

Milk Alliance supplies products to 28 countries.
