Ukraine increases gas transit by 38.5% in four months

Ukraine in January-April 2016 increased transit of natural gas to Europe and Moldova by 38.5% (by 6.924 billion cubic meters), compared to the same period in 2015, to 24.893 billion cubic meters.

According to live data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz, transit to Europe in January-April this year amounted to 23.767 billion cubic meters, to Moldova 1.126 billion cubic meters.

In April 2016 transit of gas to Europe and Moldova increased by 7% (by 361.8 million cubic meters) compared to April 2015, to 5.566 billion cubic meters. In particular transit of gas through Ukraine to Europe amounted to 5.391 billion cubic meters, to Moldova 174.9 million cubic meters.

As reported, Gazprom in September 2014-February 2015 restricted gas supplies to Europe through Ukraine. Restrictions were introduced to counter reverse shipments from the EU to Ukraine.
