Eustream: Gas interconnector between Ukraine and Slovakia will start bi-direction work in April

A gas interconnector between Ukraine and Slovakia from April 1 will begin work in a bi-direction mode, according to Eustream, the Slovak gas transportation system operator.

"The connection point in Budenets from April 1, 2016 will become bi-direction – with the possibility of input from the Ukrainian side in the direction of Eustream. The maximum daily system input power on the part of Ukraine (on a permanent basis) amounts to 19 million cubic meters per day," reads the report.

In the future Eustream intends to offer potential customers extra power, which will be available on an unstable base.

As reported, previously, the Vojany-Uzhgorod interconnector was used exclusively for gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine. The remainder of transportation capacity was contracted on the Slovak side by Gazprom.
