Coal stocks at Ukrainian TPPs 0.9% up in a week

Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) in Ukraine in the period from February 29 to March 9 rose by 0.9%, or by 20,500 tonnes, from 2.337 million tonnes to 2.357 million tonnes, national energy company Ukrenergo reported on its website.

In particular, the stocks of anthracite coal amounted to 843,000 tonnes (of which 157,600 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), those of gas coal and long-flame coal reached 1.514 million tonnes (of which 263,300 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).

Ukrenergo said that energy consumption in the morning of March 9 was 18.991 GW, while 29 coal power units and one fuel oil power unit at the TPPs generated 5.885 GW, the nuclear power plants (NPPs) had a capacity of 9.618 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.073 GW, combined heat and power plants 2.168 GW, and alternative energy units 247 MW.

No energy supply was between mainland Ukraine and Crimea.
