NBU revises criteria for grouping banks in 2016, singles banks with state stakes and foreign groups

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has revised criteria for grouping banks in 2016, singling a group of banks with state-owned shares (seven), banks from foreign banking groups (19) and two groups depending on the size of assets in the banking system – more than 0.5% or less than 0.5%, the regulator has reported on its website.

The decision was made by the banks' operation and payment system oversight and regulation committee on December 31, 2015.

According to the report, seven banks are in the group of banks where the state-owned holding exceeds 75%: Oschadbank, Ukreximbank, Ukrgasbank, Rodovid Bank, bank Clearing Center, State Land Bank and Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (UBRD).

The central bank singled 19 banks from foreign banking groups: Prominvestbank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Sberbank, Ukrsotsbank, UkrSibbank, VTB, bank Credit Agricole, OTP Bank, Citibank, ING Bank Ukraine, Credobank, Pravex-Bank, VS Bank, BM Bank, Piraeus Bank, Marfin Bank, bank Credit Europe, Deutsche Bank DBU and SEB Corporate Bank.

In terms of assets the NBU included 13 banks into the first group: PrivatBank, Alfa-Bank, FUIB, banks Pivdenny and Khreschatyk, Megabank, bank Credit Dnipro, Procredit Bank, Fidobank, Universal Bank, PTB, banks Vostok and Diamant.

A total of 78 banks were included in the second group: International Investment Bank, Bank for Investments and Savings (BIS-Bank), TAScombank, Fortuna, Clearing House, A-bank, Arkada, Industrialbank, bank Mykhailivsky, Avant, Idea Bank, BTA Bank, bank New (Novy), Misto Bank, Forward, Premium, TK Credit, Express-Bank, Poltava-Bank, Lviv, Unex, Globus, First Investment Bank, Grant, Cominvestbank, Eurobank, Europrombank, Petrocommerce-Ukraine, Soyuz, Bank Sich, DV Bank, Unison, Creditwest Bank, Bank 3/4, Finbank, Apeks, Trust, Asvio, Boguslav, Metabank, RwS (transition bank), Motor-Bank, OKCI, Crystalbank, Ukrainian Capital, Artem, Policombank, Smartbank, Investbank, Ukrdubinvestbank, Radabank, Agrocombank, Avangard, KSG Bank, Region-Bank, Vernum Bank, NK Bank, bank Narodny Kapital, Finexbank, Concorde, Classicbank, PFB, Trust-Capital, CIB, Neos, Familny, Finance Bank, Zemelny Capital, Center, Portal, Financial Partner, Vektor, Astra, Credit Optima, Alliance, Investment Trust Bank, Gefest and Alpari.
