SCM to pay more attention to mining and metals sector, introducing division director post

Donetsk-based System Capital Management (SCM), the largest financial and industrial group in Ukraine, plans to pay more attention to the mining and metals business, introducing the post of director for the development of the mining and metals division of the group and appointing Amir Aisautov to the post.

An SCM press release issued on Monday says that Aisautov will supervise the issues of development and management of the mining and metals business as a part of SCM's strategy for business development.

"SCM sticks to the principle of reasonable diversification, but the mining and metals division is still a keystone of the group's business. We, as the owner of an international-class metallurgical company [Metinvest] understand this business well, and we've decided to reinforce the SCM team and introduce a new post - director for the development of the mining and metals division, inviting Aisautov [to take the post]," SCM Director General Oleh Popov said.

Aisautov as director for the development of the mining and metals division will represent SCM as a shareholder in supervisory boards of the mining and metals assets of the group. He will oversee the issue of a development strategy for the business, investment, finances and risks.

"It's a great achievement for me to join the SCM team, but this is a great responsibility, as my work in the near term will focus on management and development of the SCM's assets in the mining and metals sector, the importance of which to SCM and the whole of Ukraine is impossible to underestimate. I hope that my previous experience and knowledge will help in solving the set goals," Aisautov said.

Aisautov was born in 1979. He graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University, has МВА from a business school at Georgetown University (Washington, the United States). From 2003- 2008 he was senior manager of projects in Moscow and Emirate's offices of McKinsey&Company international consulting company. From August 2008 to November 2009 he was director for strategy and investments at Clever Management Company.
