The German Society for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ) is interested in the further opening of municipal energy agencies in Ukrainian cities, director of the project "The establishment of energy agencies in Ukraine" Robert Kuenne has reported.

"Yes, of course, now the main goal of GIZ is to initiate two pilot projects, which will become an example and a model for succession in other regions," he told reporters during the eleventh international congress "Institutional and technical aspects of reforming housing and utilities services 2015" in Kyiv.

According to Kuenne, today GIZ along with the implementation of a pilot project on the creation of two municipal energy agencies also provides support in the matters of energy efficiency and energy saving to local authorities, in particular in Kyiv and Lviv regions.

As reported, with reference to Kuenne, the cost of the pilot project on the creation of two municipal energy agencies in Ukraine in 2014-2017 amounts to EUR3 million.
