A court has ruled to collect UAH 23.5 million from former officials of a separate subdivision of Khmelnytsky NPP for the losses they caused to the state, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has reported.

"The strict position of the prosecutor's office in Khmelnytsky region, the courts of all jurisdictions convicted three former officials in a separate subdivision of Khmelnytsky NPP for abuse of position, forgery and neglect of duty," the press service of the PGO reported.

According to the report, the criminal actions of the officials resulted in the nuclear power plant losing equipment worth UAH 15 million.

In order to return the losses to state-run Energoatom company, the region's prosecutor's office sued the above-mentioned former officials.

On August 20, the court of appeals decided to satisfy the prosecutor's agency's request and collect UAH 23.5 million from three formal officials.
