Gazprombank net loss widens 15% to 4.3 bln rubles in Q1

Gazprombank saw net losses widen to 4.272 billion rubles in Q1 2015 under international financial reporting standards (IFRS), compared with a net loss of 3.715 billion rubles in the same period last year, according to the bank's consolidated financials.

Net interest income declined 21% to 19.8 billion rubles. Provisioning increased 270% to 31.92 billion rubles. Non-interest income totaled 20.887 billion rubles compared with a net expense of 418 million rubles in the same period last year.

Bank assets shrank 1% to 4.722 trillion rubles. The loan portfolio increased 1.4% to 3.221 trillion rubles, including 2.902 trillion rubles in the corporate loan portfolio, 1.9% more, and 318.68 billion rubles in the retail loan portfolio, 3.6% less.

Client deposits increased to 2.948 trillion rubles from 2.868 trillion rubles at the beginning of the year, including 1.30 trillion rubles from state companies (compared with 1.192 trillion rubles), 1.07 trillion rubles from private-sector companies (virtually unchanged) and 506.3 billion rubles from individuals (492.01 billion rubles).

The Basel II capital adequacy ratio was 10.4% as of March 31, down from 10.7% as of January 1. Tier 1 capital adequacy was 7.5%, down from 7.7%.

Gazprombank was the third biggest Russian bank by assets as of the end of the first quarter of 2015 according to the Interfax-100 ranking compiled by the Center for Economic Analysis.
