Usmanov's press service denies equity participation in Facebook, accusations of Ukrainian bloggers

The press service of Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov has categorically denied the allegations of Ukrainian bloggers, made at a press conference in Kyiv on June 8, about Usmanov's influence on Facebook moderation policy.

"The article "Ukrainian Bloggers Consider Possibility to Litigate Facebook Policy on Moderation" contains the following untrue details: "In such policy conducted by Facebook, Ukrainian bloggers see elements of hybrid war by Russia. Bloggers also rely on the fact that the structures, belonging to Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov, own the stake of the social network," Usmanov's press service reported to Interfax-Ukraine.

"These facts are calumnious and untrue. Alisher Usmanov and any of his companies do not own the stake of Facebook social network," Usmanov's press service said.

Usmanov became a shareholder of Facebook in 2009, but withdrew from its capital in 2014.

"I admire Facebook but I said "Arrivederci Facebook," Usmanov said in an interview with CNBC last year.
