Ukrainian authorities discuss IMF program, finance ministry holds consolations with factions

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, Speaker Volodymyr Hroisman, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Gontareva, members of the government and factions-members of the coalition on February 6 held a meeting to discuss the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) requested by Ukraine from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"At the meeting its participants discussed the course of negotiations between Ukraine and IMF on the EFF and the radical reform program that Ukraine has started implementing and plans to realize in 2015-2018," reads a finance ministry report issued on Monday.

According to the report, after the meeting the ministry held consultations with representatives of four out of the five parliamentary coalition factions: Petro Poroshenko's Block, People's Front, Samopomich and the Radical Party. The factions discussed the list of reforms and the IMF draft agreement.

Ukraine asked the IMF to replace the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) with the four-year EFF in January.
