Wizz Air Ukraine to open flights from Kyiv to Moscow

The only Ukrainian low-cost airline, Wizz Air Ukraine (Kyiv), from September 30 will open flights from Kyiv to Moscow (Vnukovo).

According to information in the booking system on the company's Web site, the flights will be made three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and the price of one-way ticket starts from UAH 479.

Airline Commercial Director Vadym Tretiak said at a press conference in Kyiv that flights from October 27 would be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but for this it is needed to obtain permit from the Russian aviation authorities, as the current one is restricted to the mentioned date.

Asked about the relevance of launching the flight, Wizz Air Ukraine Head Akos Bus stressed that before the conflict between Ukraine and Russia this route was perhaps the most significant for the company, and now it remains important.

"We expect to be able to stimulate demand for the flights offering affordable rates," he said.

Bus also said the Ukrainian aviation authorities permitted the company to perform flights to St. Petersburg, however airport fees in this city are unacceptable for the airline.
