The state-run enterprise Ukrposhta plans in 2013 to increase its profit by 50% and net revenues by 10%, Ukrposhta Director General Oksana Plotnikova has said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"On average we plan that net revenues will grow by some 10%, and for some services this is a large rise, while for other services there will almost no growth. For example, we do not plan price rises for periodicals delivery. As for the profit, we plan that it will increase by 50% thanks to a rise in revenues and the optimization of expenses," she said.

In addition, she said that in 2013, the wages of employees is to grow by 10%. The increase will mainly be for postmen and operations employees.

"First, these are postmen. We have around 40,000 postmen. Their average wage is around UAH 1,200. On the whole, last year we reached [an average wage of ] UAH 1,675 at the enterprise. As of May 2013 average wage is UAH 1,885. We're trying to include growth in wages in the optimization. We should bring the wage to the level of the average wage in the country," Plotnikova said.

Ukrposhta is the national postal operator of Ukraine according to a cabinet resolution of January 10, 2002.

State enterprise Ukrposhta is subordinated to the Infrastructure Ministry. It provides around 50 types of services in 14,000 departments across Ukraine.

In 2012, Ukrposhta increased its net profit by 53.4% on 2011, to UAH 40.5 million.
