Industrial production in Ukraine 2.2% down in April 2013

The volume of industrial production in Ukraine in April 2013 fell by 2.2% compared to April 2012, while in March 2013 the fall was 5.2%, in February it was 6%, the State Statistics Service said on Friday.

In general, the fall in the industrial production in the first four months of 2013 has slowed to 4.2% from 5% in January-March.

The service said that in April compared to March of this year, the industrial production decreased by 1.5%.

The key reasons for the recession are still the decline in coal production, oil refining, chemical industry, mechanical engineering and metallurgy.

As reported, the fall in industrial production in Ukraine in 2012 was 1.8% compared to 2011. At the same time, the service registered the 1.7% growth in industrial production in January-April 2012.
