Yanukovych appoints Kyiv tax head as supervisory board member of two state banks instead of first deputy premier

Head of State Tax Service in Kyiv Iryna Nosachova will replace first Deputy Premier of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovsky as members of the supervisory boards of the state-run banks Oschadbank and Ukreximbank.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed corresponding orders on November 1, and posted them on his Web site on Friday, without an explanation of the reasons for the changes.

As reported, the president formed his quota of members of the supervisory boards of the two state banks in April 2010, two months after his victory at the presidential elections. At that moment Khoroshkovsky headed the Security Service of Ukraine, and became first deputy premier at the beginning of 2012.

Oschadbank and Ukreximbank are the second and third banks in the country respectively in terms of the volume of the assets. Their supervisory boards are formed by the president, government and Verkhovna Rada: the quota of each of them being five members.
