Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano (Brazil) is ready to receive Ukrainian citizenship and play for Ukraine's national football team.

"I love Ukraine very much. The whole world learned about me when I started playing here. I'm very grateful to this country, and I consider it to be my second home. I'm even ready to replace my passport if I'm called up to Ukraine's national team. I think that I could strengthen the team," he said in an interview with the Great Football program on Ukrainian television's Ukraina Channel on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Adriano moved to Shakhtar in March 2007 from Brazil's Internacional. He is a four-time Ukrainian champion and three-time winner of the Ukrainian Cup. On May 20, 2009, he scored one of the two goals in Shakhtar's victory in the UEFA Cup final. He also played six matches for Brazil's U-20 team.

After a hat-trick in the match against Denmark's Nordsjælland on November 20, he became the best scorer in the history of Shakhtar's performance in European cups (20 goals).
