The defense forces of Ukraine received M113 armored vehicles equipped for the transportation of injured soldiers from the battlefield, a few more hundreds of such vehicles are expected to arrive soon, Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has said.

"Dozens of these armored evacuation vehicles have arrived in Ukraine. A few more hundreds are expected soon," he said on Facebook on Thursday.

The minister also said that tracked vehicles have significantly higher maneuverability, so in off-road conditions this is what the army needs most.

"We are transferring the armored vehicles for the evacuation of the wounded to combat units now. My deputy Natalia Kalmykova coordinates this work and the project as a whole. I am grateful to our partners for their support during the war," he said.
