France transfers two additional LRU MLRS to Ukraine

France transferred to Ukraine two additional LRU multiple launch rocket systems, an analogue of the American MLRS M270, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports with reference to the French Ministry of Defense.

"France transferred two additional LRU multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine," the State Border Guard Service said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Thursday.

"France has the right to lead this coalition, taking into account the artillery equipment transferred to Ukraine: about thirty Caesar self-propelled guns, while we had only 75, four LRU multiple launch rocket launchers, TRF1 cannons and 120 mm mortars," head of the Artillery for Ukraine coalition said in an interview with the press service of the French Ministry of Defense.

LRU or lance-roquettes unitaire is the French variant of the American M270 MLRS. The installations are equipped with: an upgraded EFCS fire control system, a new navigation system (using GPS), a new communication system.

As reported, France, the United States and more than 20 other countries on Thursday, January 18, created an artillery coalition in Paris to assist Ukraine in repelling Russian aggression.
