The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine will cooperate with the ministries of Lithuania and Latvia to protect the rights of displaced Ukrainians, in particular, children and people with disabilities.

According to the ministry's press service, the decision was made following a telephone conversation between Minister Maryna Lazebna and Lithuanian Minister of Social Security and Labor Monika Navickienė and Latvian Welfare Minister Gatis Eglitis.

"Maryna Lazebna thanked Lithuania and Latvia for their support in the political sphere, on the information front, in the provision of humanitarian aid and assistance to people forced to temporarily move from the places of the most heated hostilities," the message says.

She informed foreign colleagues that more than 2,000 civilians became victims of hostilities, more than 200 schools, 34 hospitals, more than 1,500 residential buildings were destroyed, and about 3 million people were forced to leave their homes and go to safe places inside Ukraine or abroad.

"During the talks, the parties agreed to sign bilateral memorandums of cooperation regarding the procedure for the temporary stay of Ukrainian citizens in the territory of Lithuania and Latvia, ensuring their primary vital needs. Special attention will be paid to displaced people with disabilities and children, their registration and the exchange of data on their stay and provision, including medical and psychological services," the ministry notes.
