Poroshenko: We seek to return Crimea, part of Donbas via negotiations

Kyiv will retake Crimea and the parts of Donbas it does not currently control using political and diplomatic methods, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

"I say once again: we seek to regain Crimea and part of Donbas politically and diplomatically, but Ukraine has already benefitted from the Minsk agreements [on settling the conflict in Donbas]," Poroshenko said in Kyiv on Tuesday at a meeting with the heads of Ukraine's diplomatic missions abroad.

"We'll struggle, and we'll liberate each piece of our land, including in a political and diplomatic way, where the main burden lies on your shoulders. But we'll be reinforcing our military capability, as we have an aggressor country next to us that's capable of challenging European and global security," he said.
