The Russian side has submitted an application for visits to 51 people held in Ukrainian prisons, but only 13 of them have Russian citizenship, and some of them have already refused to meet with Russian ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova has said.

"Now we demand that Russia adjust its list. For her part, Tatyana Moskalkova has already visited seven sailors from her list," Denisova wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday.

According to the Ukrainian ombudsman, now, in accordance with the agreements, "we want mirror visits to our citizens."

"We again offer them a 'roadmap for visits.' I have already publicly appealed to FSB, FSIN and the Russian Presidential Administration with the request to grant permission to visit Ukrainian political prisoners, but they do not respond to any of our requests. Earlier they proposed to start mirror visits in August- September," she said.

Denisova said that on July 25 she intends to meet with the Lithuanian ombudsman and jointly solve the issue of cooperation with the European Network of Ombudsmen (ENO) about visits to Ukrainian political prisoners.
