Psychological, psychiatric evaluation ordered for Ukrainian journalist Suschenko arrested in Russia

Ukrainian journalist Roman Suschenko, who was arrested in Russia on espionage charges, will have to undergo a psychological and psychiatric evaluation, his lawyer Mark Feygin said.

"A psychological and psychiatric evaluation was ordered for my client Roman Suschenko today. It will be conducted as early as in July," Feygin wrote on his Facebook account on Friday.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on October 3, 2016 that Ukrainian journalist Roman Suschenko had been detained while "carrying out an espionage action" in Moscow and a criminal case had been opened against him on spying charges. Suschenko denies any wrongdoing.

Moscow's Lefortovo District Court extended Sushchenko's custodial term until June 30.
