Lutsenko in London discuss possibility establishing joint investigation teams for resonant criminal cases

Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has discussed with representatives of the UK law enforcement bodies their experience in the investigation of serious financial, economic and corruption crimes.

As the press service of the Prosecutor General Office reported, Yuriy Lutsenko during his visit to the United Kingdom met with representatives of the National Crime Agency and the UK Serious Fraud Office.

"The main purpose of these meetings is to exchange experience in the investigation of serious financial, economic and corruption crimes and to discuss the prospects of setting up joint investigation teams for the most urgent criminal proceedings," the report says.

It is noted that the British side expressed its readiness to provide support to the General Prosecutor Office of Ukraine on the way of reforming the prosecution authorities of Ukraine and the fight against crime, including criminal proceedings against former high-ranking officials.

Lutsenko was also interviewed by the Ukrainian service of the BBC, in which he spoke about the achievements of the Prosecutor General Office in the fight against crime and corruption, as well as on the process of reform of the prosecution authorities of Ukraine.

"Today organized crime does not pay attention to national borders, and therefore it is extremely important for our agencies to cooperate in combating transnational offenses," Lutsenko said.
