EC has to coordinate one issue before granting visa free regime to Ukraine - MP Ariev
The issue of granting visa-free regime to Ukraine by the European Union is getting through the last bureaucratic procedures, head of the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to PACE Volodymyr Ariev has said.
"I wouldn’t make a big deal due to the absence of the issue on the introduction of visa-free regime with Ukraine in the draft agenda of the European Parliament, because this is not the agenda, but only the project," the press service of Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction quoted Ariev on Wednesday.
The MP said that Ukraine has fulfilled all obligations for obtaining visa-free regime with the EU and the European MPs confirm this.
"Ukraine has done everything and the initiative is on the side of the European Union now. The problem lies in the fact that Europe is experiencing emigration crisis today and suffering because of the invasion of immigrants from Syria and Iraq. Representatives of the European parliament want to calm down their citizens before the introduction of such a system as the suspension of the visa-free regime," Ariev said.
According to him, the delay lies in the fact that the European officials can not decide who will be responsible for the action of quitting visa-free regime if the country with which the contract is concluded will not fulfill its obligations.
"So, when the European Commission renders the decision on the organization which will be engaged in this process, the Ukrainian issue will be solved very quickly, as Ukraine has no remarks," the politician said.
