PGO: Vira Savchenko gives testimony in case against against Plotnitsky, names co-abductor of her sister

Kyiv's Podilsky district court on Tuesday began questioning witness and claimants in a case involving the head of terrorist self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Igor Plotnitsky. Vira Savchenko, the sister of MP Nadia Savchenko [who was abducted to Russia and convicted there]," the press service of Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office said.

"The first to give testimony was the sister of Nadia Savchenko – Vira, who informed the court about the circumstances of the abduction and illegal transfer of Nadia Savchenko from Ukraine to the Russian Federation. She also confirmed the role played by Plotnitsky and other individuals in these crimes," says the statement.

In addition, Vira Savchenko named the co-abductor of her sister – the so-called chief of counter-intelligence of the LPR Volodymyr Gromov.

During next hearing, scheduled for 17.00 on November 10, Nadia Savchenko and her mother are expected to give testimony.

The PGO said Plotnitsky is accused of carrying out a terrorist act by kidnapping hostages, as well as Nadia Savchenko, a senior Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The collegium of Kyiv's Podilsky district court on August 31 approved a PGO request to review the criminal case against Plotnitsky by trial in abstentia.
