New Rada MP Shakhov aims to create new parliament group

Candidate from the Nash Kray Party Serhiy Shakhov, who collected the largest number of votes in the midterm elections of people's deputies in electoral district No. 114 on July 17, does not intend to join a parliament faction. He said he intends to create a deputy group in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"I was asked at the meetings which parliamentary faction or group I will enter. There can be only one faction or group – the Nash Kray Party. We will take a constructive approach to draft legislation submitted in parliament. We will work for the benefit of the people. Today our task is to be business executives rather than populists," Shakhov said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

Party co-chairman Oleksandr Mazurchak said in future Nash Kray will focus on combining healthy constructive forces in the Verkhovna Rada to protect local communities. The deputy group will also monitor the government's activities and fight for the reduction of unfair high tariffs.

Nash Kray co-chairman, MP, a member of the Vidrodzhennia (Renaissance) Group) Anton Kisse said there is a need today for constructive opposition in parliament and for MPs to provide solutions to problems important for the citizens of Ukraine.
