ATO HQ: Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint reopens after short break due to shelling, one Ukrainian soldier injured

The Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint in Luhansk region, which came under fire by illegal armed groups on Thursday morning, has re-opened, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters said.

"The checkpoint works now in normal mode," the ATO HQ wrote no Facebook.

"Two anti-tank rockets were fired by members of an illegal armed unit in the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint area this morning, at 08:05 a.m. on June 9. It was decided to suspend the checkpoint's operation for an indefinite period due to the danger to the life and health of citizens crossing the border," Luhansk Regional State Administration wrote on Facebook earlier on Thursday.

What is more, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported on its part that the Ukrainian troops deployed at the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint were attacked by two unidentified persons who were moving in a general queue across the checkpoint. As a result of the attack, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded, no civilian casualties were reported.
