Rada decides not to lift ban to sell property of energy companies on liquidation list

The Verkhovna Rada has decided against lifting the ban on the sale of property of three energy companies which will be closed down.

The attempt to pass bill No. 4525 failed.

Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk said in the parliament that the enterprises mentioned in the document own only few items (garages and old vehicles). The companies are not operating, but cause losses to the national budget.

"The enterprises are being liquidated for dozens of years. Wages are paid. We propose to put property up for sale, replenish the budget and make the ministry's expenses less," he said.

This bill concerns state-run enterprises Dniprovybukhprom (Kyiv region) and Ukrenergonaladkavymiriuvannia (Kyiv) and the branch of Ukrdniprogazoochystka Research Institute (Zaporizhia).
