Next wave of mobilization this year depends on situation at front – Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated the holding of the next wave of mobilization would depend on the situation in the east of the country.
"The only thing I cannot now promise that mobilization this year won't be conducted. Its perspective and scale depend not only on our plans but also on the situation at the front," the president said, speaking at the rally "The first minute of peace" at the Museum of History of Ukraine in World War II.
He noted today the minimum wage of serviceman is UAH 7,000, which significantly increased the number of people willing to go to contract service in the army.
"In April-March almost all, who were mobilized during the fourth wave of mobilization, were demobilized," Poroshenko said.
According to the president, the seventh wave of mobilization has not announced, and the decision to declare a new wave of mobilization would depend on the situation at the front.
